PRC EMERGENCY TEAMS FLOOD NAZARENO ROUTE

MANILA — The Philippine Red Cross (PRC) has placed its operations on full alert for the 2026 Feast of Jesus Nazarene, rolling out a massive deployment of more than 1,200 staff and volunteers as millions of devotees gather in Manila.

According to the PRC Operations Center update as of 11:00 p.m., January 8, 2026, the image of the Black Nazarene is currently at the Quirino Grandstand, where emergency teams are providing round-the-clock medical coverage amid heavy crowd density. Latest patient update:

  • 30 patients assisted

  • 20 under vital signs monitoring

  • 9 minor cases (dizziness, abrasions, sprains, minor wounds)

  • 1 major injury (deep laceration)

  • 2 welfare cases (psychosocial first aid)

  • 1 patient admitted to the Emergency Field Hospital

  • 19 Ambulances

  • 6 Foot Patrol Teams

  • 1 Emergency Field Hospital

  • 2 Rescue Boats

  • Command Post and Service Vehicles active

PRC confirmed that 1,200 personnel—including doctors, nurses, rescuers, and trained volunteers—are strategically positioned across critical areas to respond to emergencies in real time.

The Philippine Red Cross is urging devotees to stay alert, hydrate regularly, and immediately seek help from PRC personnel at the first sign of distress.
